Activities Carried OutShort intro about who we are and what we are going to do.
Brainstorming: what do we associate with “(political) participation” and “Climate change”. After having collected many words talking about what have I done – what am I doing now – what will I do in future in terms of participation and in terms of climate change. With the ideas “what I want to change in my neighborhood for a healthy life” we went for a walk.
WALKING LAB. ended with concrete ideas for the Viennese climate Team
Feedback (6 Questions)1. all 4 participants feel very good. Having discussed about the topic participation made them thinking about being able to involve more in the neighborhood and school affairs. One woman said that she is not interested in political issues and have no idea. she described herself as not being involved in anywhere, but at the end she/we found out, that she takes part in school meetings at least. so it was a aha moment for her. Climate topic was really interesting for them, they very aware of this topic for a better future for their children
2. being more sensitive with the nature, eg. no waste, less plastic, using less cars
3. One woman was very clear about what she is going to do next. to inform where she can go and take part. she was very reflected and aware of the power one can have, just when he or she wants it.
4. Many new ideas for the climate team
5. three women said that they gained experience about participation and climate change. they said that they would like to share their experiences. One woman did not answer the question, she just said that there should be less trucks on the streets.
6. the workshop setting was very welcomed by all of them. they liked the active working and having gone for a walk. yes. this kind of workshops help people to feel better prepared.
Reflection on ImpactI would keep this workshop setting, it worked very well. The participants very actively involved in the topic. Walking Lab was very welcomed. The change for the participants was the new course setting- the workshop. Those are women from basic education courses who have got their lessons on German/ languages, reading, writing, Mathematics and digital skills, and often this happens in frontal teaching. And most of the women do not have experienced the school system in their countries.
